DoL - Digital Learning Manager for User Experience - NA - ATL, CHI, or STA
Who you’ll work with

You’ll have a role on our Digitizing our Learning (DoL) team in Atlanta, Chicago or Stamford.  DoL focuses on partnering with Learning Delivery, Design, and Portfolio teams to expand the role of technology based learning at McKinsey and take the Learning function across the Firm to a new level of innovation and impact. All members of the DoL team focus on designing, building and implementing digital learning solutions for Firm members.  We share the mission of McKinsey Learning – which is to accelerate every learner’s full potential by  matching world class and innovative technology solutions to learner needs. 

What you’ll do

You will work closely with leaders in Learning and with stakeholders across the Firm to understand their business needs, identify opportunities, and design digital solutions.

In this position you will lead the full stream execution, planning and piloting of innovative technology components offered at McKinsey for all learning program types, regardless of location, size, or span of influence. You will be responsible for the creation of standard operating procedures for the use of learning technology across the global firm, and gain buy-in and support from Firm Learning teams as well as primary stakeholders. 

Innovation is a key objective for our team, so you will be expected to provide strategic guidance for utilizing innovative technical tools to enhance both formal and informal development. This includes performance support and mobile solutions, as well as social and virtual learning strategy and tools. In this capacity you will counsel and advise Firm Learning on emerging capabilities and/or innovative technical solutions pertaining to existing programs. You will also consult and provide guidance regarding new solutions and applications to consider in support of firm wide initiatives. 

You will have the opportunity to partner with the Design & Development (D2) and Learning Portfolio Teams to bring new tools into the design of learning programs (across all learning teams) that align with and support the learning technology vision.  In conjunction with our Learning Delivery teams, you will drive technology adoption (e.g., analyzing participant feedback, piloting new approaches), bring in expertise and best pedagogy from inside and outside the Firm. 

Qualifications
  • University degree and excellent academic record required; advanced degree preferred
  • At least 8-10 years’ experience, ideally in a professional services environment with direct and successful experience in a similar role managing enterprise-wide initiatives, especially in resolving high-stakes, complex technology and process issues.
  • 2-5 years’ experience with state-of-the-art learning technology digital platforms, including Cornerstone learning management system.
  • Deep functional learning expertise in a dimension of professional service firm activity, e.g., leadership, client service
  • McKinsey engagement leadership basics which include excellent problem-solving skills, project management, and people leadership
  • Maturity, confidence, and client relationship skills—in particular, some experience acting as a thought partner to stakeholder teams.
  • Expertise in and technically fluent in User experience and User interface guiding principles and methodologies
  • Specific experience coding/debugging CSS, HTML5, Javascript, and has created/edited mobile friendly web pages and applications. 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator)
  • Knowledgeable in AGILE software development methodology 
  • Experience configuring learning management systems and integrating between external platforms leveraging custom apis. Cornerstone on Demand and xapi experience is a plus
