You will be based out of one of McKinsey’s Oil & Gas hubs in North America as part of the Petroleum Asset Excellence (PAX) unit, a new venture within McKinsey’s Oil & Gas Practice.
Your work will directly contribute to increasing the value of Upstream assets and turnaround operational performance. McKinsey’s renowned advisory, combined with specialized expertise in reservoir / well management, drilling, production optimization, onshore / offshore operations and asset management, allows PAX to integrate with the existing asset team to address current business and performance challenges to maximize and realize the intrinsic value of the asset, while improving capabilities and sustaining change.
You will be at the forefront of PAX’s expansion into North America, following the successful entry in Asia and EMEA. To spearhead this expansion, McKinsey is looking for talented professionals of all levels with technical upstream expertise, especially around conventional and unconventional onshore operations and oil sands, to join PAX. This is an exciting opportunity for the entrepreneurial-minded, as you will be building our presence in a new territory.
As a member of the PAX family, and fully integrated with the wider McKinsey, you will deliver significant impact by applying your industry experience to advise and support clients directly, or by providing expertise and support to our client teams.
You will participate as a leader or team member on client engagement work, providing intellectual insight and framing business problems in a way that the team can then execute to drive impact and client value.
Depending on your role, you will advise client executives or provide analytical support to traditional McKinsey client service teams (“CSTs”), and sector teams to develop recommendations based on the findings.
You will participate as a leader or team member on onshore and offshore asset visits with a focus on operational improvement. Your work will advise client executives or provide analytical support to traditional McKinsey client service teams. You will drive implementation and change, leading or participating in client development for both current and new clients (e.g., meetings/workshops on topics of interest).
You may lead or participate in key internal knowledge-building initiatives. You will contribute to and participate in practice conferences and workshops and depending on your role, you may also write proposals for new client engagements.
