Working out of London or Munich, you’ll have the opportunity to partner with Digital McKinsey leadership across Western Europe to scope out requirements, interact with senior candidates, consult with them on a potential career move and leverage the expertise and support of an established Experienced Professional (EP) team dedicated to providing the highest level of client and candidate service.

What you’ll do

As an Executive Recruiter, you’ll join our Experienced Professional (EP) team and work with McKinsey Digital leadership to drive senior hires. 

You will develop talent management strategies to understand talent needs within our digital space and work with digital leadership to determine hiring targets, develop profiles and specifications and identify and recommend improvement opportunities that ensure recruiting remains a leadership agenda item.  You will 
Plan, coordinate and drive hiring activities.  You’ll be responsible for the full life cycle. Turning profile requirements into an effective sourcing strategies, using an appropriate combination of direct sourcing and referrals to approach, attract and develop candidate interest.  You’ll then work hand in hand with candidates and internal clients guiding them both efficiently through our partner election cycle and provide consistent reporting to leadership on candidate pipelines and progress against your recruiting goals.

As a subject matter expert you will develop and share best practices that will help develop the skills and capabilities of the wider recruiting community on a number of dimensions e.g. direct elect hiring, performance metrics and process improvements.

Partner hiring is the most senior level of hiring at McKinsey and represents a great opportunity to leverage both your gravitas to work with leadership and senior candidates and your attention to detail to successfully build memos for our partner election committee.  This is the ideal job for a high-performing and self-motivated individual.  It’s a challenging and pivotal role in a global and growing practice and offers an excellent opportunity for someone who aspires to take full responsibility and not only drive the process but creatively contribute to developing best practices around experienced hire recruiting.

  • 7-10 years of recruiting experience gained while working with in an executive search or corporate recruiting function focused on identifying, attracting and hiring highly-talented individuals who are in great demand into senior roles
  • Deep knowledge of recruiting strategies, processes and marketplace trends, ideally knowledge of the technology space and an established network
  • Highly developed executive search skills, comfort in managing the full lifecycle and strong discernment skills; able to evaluate candidates intellectual depth and problem-solving ability
  • Strong ability to synthesize findings and drive to decision
  • Strong client services orientation, ability to pro-actively take initiative and comfortable working with minimal direction and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Detail-oriented and organized and a willingness to “get hands dirty” and play an active role in all aspects of candidate management process; even on the smallest of details when needed
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team skills; ability to build trust-based working relationships with candidates, consultants, and recruiting colleagues
  • Flexible to travel and work outside of standard office hours
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus
