Who you’ll work with

You'll work with Banking Toolbox, the joint initiative of McKinsey Solutions and McKinsey's Banking Practice focusing on innovative banking transformation. McKinsey's Banking Toolbox brings innovation in our Firm's client service, based on a combination of self-service tools, databases, benchmarks and different "packages" of expertise. These services are becoming an increasingly integral part of our client service model. You will be working directly with the leadership to support the growth of the business across EMEA.
New Ventures is a recently formed part of McKinsey focused on fostering innovations driven by analytics, design thinking, mobile, social and other technologies and integrating them into our client work. It is a foundation for—and expands our investment in—our entrepreneurial culture.
McKinsey Solutions is a core part of New Ventures and offers practical tools that help people at all levels of an organization generate insights they need to address both strategic and day-to-day decisions. These solutions complement McKinsey's traditional client service and are delivered in many ways, including subscriptions, workshops, training programs and project-based engagements. We work closely with clients to embed our tools, analytics and expertise, and provide on-going support to help them build the capabilities they need to revolutionize how decisions are made.

What you’ll do

As a Client Development Executive you will use your expertise in the financial services and organizational transformation and a consultative selling approach to build and maintain relationships with clients.

One of McKinsey Solutions' key drivers of success is its ability to market its solutions not only through existing McKinsey clients, but also directly to new potential clients. You will lead this initiative particularly in identifying and cultivating new clients for the Solution’s subscription services, by cooperating with international teams of colleagues and clients. You will be responsible for collaborating closely with the Solution’s leadership, crafting the overall growth strategy and business development goals, both internally and externally. You will also work closely with McKinsey client teams and in particular with senior leadership, act as key advisor to help understand and define their business challenges and effective use of the Banking Toolbox, and coordinate effective delivery of the services with the Banking Toolbox Team. You will also work with the leadership to grow their value proposition within the Firm.

Your responsibilities will include organizing roadshows to McKinsey partner groups, developing internal network within McKinsey and reviewing client activities on regular basis to identify opportunities. You’ll have to recognize and cultivate new prospects, maintain client pipeline. Developing and presenting letters of proposal to clients and managing the deal closure together with relevant McKinsey leaders and the Solutions teams, as well as leading on-site presentations and training to educate prospective clients both internally and externally will also be part of your responsibilities. You’ll also maintain current knowledge of industry trends and competitor offerings in order to influence new products and offering development by representing the voice of the customer and, where appropriate, contribute to specific product development efforts.

Qualifications
  • Proven performer with at least 3-5 years of strategic international business development track record combined with consulting experience in the financial services sector
  • Fluency in the financial services; deep familiarity with the market landscape and the typical transformation challenges of financial institutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills; fierce desire to be a critical team member in a rapidly growing business
  • Ability to be "stand-alone" in senior client settings
  • Clear oral and written communication skills to present complex value propositions to client senior executives
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a keen interest in proactively building the subscriber base of the Banking Toolbox
  • Openness to become deeply familiar with, and participate in further development of existing tools
  • Fluency in English is a must, any additional language is a plus
