You'll work with the New Ventures Marketing Team in both Stamford, CT and Jersey City, NJ.

The McKinsey Solutions Office (MSO) is a fast-growing office within McKinsey. MSO focuses on developing and marketing innovative client service approaches that leverage data/analytics, software and expertise, with direct client service capabilities (“Solutions”).
The McKinsey Marketing Navigator is a new software solution developed with the client’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in mind. It is focused on optimizing marketing investment from strategic to tactical levels, always with the decision maker in mind. Marketing Navigator is a rapidly growing solution in constant evolution. 
Analytics is the basis behind the decisions in the Marketing Navigator solution and we combine best in class econometrics and heuristics techniques to derive insights, as well as supporting clients with specific analyses when relevant.

McKinsey Solutions is a core part of New Ventures and offers practical tools that help people at all levels of an organization generate insights they need to address both strategic and day-to-day decisions. These solutions complement McKinsey's traditional client service and are delivered in many ways, including subscriptions, workshops, training programs and project-based engagements. We work closely with clients to embed our tools, analytics and expertise, and provide on-going support to help them build the capabilities they need to revolutionize how decisions are made.

What you’ll do

You will report directly to the Marketing Navigator General Manager, and be responsible for leading and delivering complex client engagements from initiation through delivery and also support client development. 

You will work with client representatives and McKinsey consultants in joint problem-solving sessions and facilitate the definition of project goals, tasks, and resource requirements, and you'll recommend process improvements regarding how projects are scoped, built, tested and deployed. You'll also help drive prioritization and evangelism at the leadership level for new programs and provide leadership and develop unified governance, communications, and standards.

Additionally, you'll accompany clients in their use Marketing Navigator to sustainably drive high impact. This involves engaging with client sponsors on a regular basis to discuss how to drive user adoption, assist with questions they might have regarding the Solution usage or applicability and the building of client capabilities. 

  •    10+ years business experience using analytics to drive business/marketing results specifically in the retail industry.
  •     Previous consulting experience at a tier-one consulting firm ideal; and/or deep experience in other client service oriented roles acceptable.  
  •     A proven track record of establishing positive client relationships that leads to generating repeat and/or new business development opportunities and successful client       engagements. 
  •     Proven thought leadership in data analytics within the Marketing & Sales space including production, syndication/publication of “marketable” knowledge. 
  •     Demonstrated ability to develop and apply information-driven analytic approaches to solve critical business questions in a practical manner with tangible results.
  •     Extensive experience managing analytic resources (e.g., statistical, data, econometric), both on-shore and off-shore, to create meaningful and measurable impact.
  •     Experience leading cross-functional teams, and in-depth of knowledge/defined involvement in helping frame, design and execute solutions for challenging business situations. 
  •     A team-orientation and collaborative approach; outstanding listening skills and the ability to manage through influence. 
  •     Sophisticated executive demeanor, comfortable functioning at the highest levels of client organizations; excellent presentation skills, including strong verbal and writing capabilities.
  •     An advanced degree, preferably an MBA, Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline 
  •     Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline: e.g., statistics, applied mathematics, econometrics, economics, operations research, or marketing science
  •     Strong analytical and data management skills; Knowledge of analytical packages such as SAS and/or R
  •     Strong multi-tasking abilities, flexibility, and patience in a fluid environment
  •     Excellent written and verbal communication skills
