Who you’ll work with

You'll work in our North American Knowledge Center in Waltham, Massachusetts with our Insights Solutions Research team.

As part of McKinsey Solutions, Insights Solutions is bringing together the best of McKinsey’s Consumer Insights approaches.  The  Insights Solutions solution is a cutting-edge approach to Insights gathering (quantitative, qualitative and digital) that will fuel our client’s ability to make better business decisions in real time. 


What you’ll do

The Solution Analyst will work closely with McKinsey Insights Solutions leadership and McKinsey Generalist CSTs to deliver digital marketing insights using proprietary analysis, secondary research and expert inputs.

The Solution Analyst role will involve execution of requests and projects. At the same time, the analyst will also be expected to problem solve with CSTs and help them shape their thinking on what analysis to use for what situation. The Solution Analyst must spend time under guidance from solution leader to develop new analysis that will shape the way we offer insights to our clients and teams. The analyst must also make efforts to codify the knowledge they create and ensure that we create a reusable repository of the work that we do.

You will conducts secondary research on digital marketing asks and opportunities and work on requests related to various marketing and sales related topics. You will clean and transform specific data streams and have the ability to generate insights from large data sets, including analyzing data sets for benchmarks, aiding in creation of client specific findings and reports and custom comparisons.  You will ensure consistency and robustness of data and have a passion for digital marketing – interest in learning about the different types of digital marketing, how they are used and what is the potential impact. Ability to provide CSTs with advice on digital marketing strategy.  Your Passion should also include building partnerships as consistently evolving partnerships that are very important for our offerings.  You will identify new and interesting partners and  help drive the product roadmap for our existing partners.   Your innovative attitude to continuously evolve our offering and help stay competitive for long and ensure data is customized to client needs, when possible.

  • University degree or higher, preferably in economics, business, marketing or digital
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferably in business intelligence, or market research and analysis 
  • Understanding of key marketing, business, economic and financial concepts and terminology
  • Knowledge of statistical tools and languages is a great add-on
  • Strong problem solving skills. Ability to help CSTs scope the potential work by understanding client needs and the questions they are trying to solve. In addition, helping teams interpret results and communicate the “so what” of our findings 
  • Strong project management skills. Experience managing multiple timelines in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Highly responsiveness. Has the ability to quickly triage requests from CSTs. This can at times require calls/emails beyond regular working hours
  • Analytical mindset, multi-tasking abilities, service orientation, team spirit and intellectual curiosity
