ORE - Client Platform Specialist - Costa Rica
Who you’ll work with

You'll work in San Jose, Costa Rica with our Client Platforms team. You will work within our IT operations team, providing world class service for externally facing applications and services as well as to advanced analytics activities within the firm. The team's primary objective is to set and achieve goals which help us provide top level services to our clients.

What you’ll do

You will make contributions to improve our server and software platform environments and their support by reviewing existing processes, documenting and following best practices and troubleshooting procedures.

You may also be responsible for the administration and support of our global client facing server environment primarily based on Microsoft Windows and Linux, for the most part virtualized based upon VMWare and IBM storage systems.  You'll also help with the administration and support of our software platforms primarily based on .NET, Apache/Ruby on Rails, Citrix Xenapp and our global Active Directory environment.  You'll have the opportunity to implement distributed systems management and monitoring capabilities for these environments and you'll ensure strict compliance with our security standards, as managed by our ISO 27000 Information Security Management System.

Qualifications
  • Strong technical expertise and administration experience on Linux Suse or RedHat and LAMP technologies including Apache, Ruby on Rails, and SOLR
  • Strong technical expertise and administration experience on  Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 and Microsoft technologies including  .NET, IIS, and Active Directory
  • Strong technical expertise and hands-on support experience with VMWare ESXi 5
  • Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience with Citrix XenApp 6.5
  • Solid working knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocol and routing principles and network security
  • Strong experience with host security (e.g. passwords, uids/gids, ACLs, file permissions, file system integrity)
  • Familiarity with data center operations best practices, ideally in a virtualized environment (VMWare, storage systems, SAN) and/or following strong security standards (e.g. ISO 27000)
  • Technical knowledge in the following areas is desired: 
  • GITHUB, SVN, Altiris monitoring and software distribution, Symantec security solutions, EMC VSM/Infra
  • Basic understanding of the ISO 27000 standard
  • Distinct quality mindset and service attitude
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid sense for operational priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in various team settings
  • Strong process management background and interest in developing and optimizing processes
